NWDA's Annual Graffiti Removal Day!

Saturday, May 9, at 8:30 for coffee and donuts

Stadium Fred Meyer lobby, NW 20th Place near West Burnside.

Graffiti Removal from 9:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. (however much time you can give to our neighborhood will be appreciated)

We'll clean up the tagging used to communicate by drug dealers, pimps, http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/whore (s) and transients in the Historic Alphabet District.

http://www.economist.com/science/displaystory.cfm?STORY_ID=12630201

Thanks to Commissioner Randy Leonard's efforts to require sellers to record who's buying tagging material, there has been a drop in graffiti around our schools, houses of worship, and on both public and private property.

We still get "bombed" and when we do we can always count on Marcia Dennis of the Graffiti Abatement Program for help: http://www.portlandonline.com/oni/index.cfm?c=32420

Graffiti abatement is one of the most cost-effective, efficient, and guaranteed ways to protect public infrastructure, reduce street crime, free up police, and maintain property values.

We look forward to the NWDA Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Committee Chairs, volunteering to lead by example.
