Citizen Lobby Trainings with 1000 Friends of Oregon

Wednesday, December 3rd, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

SE Uplift, 3534 SE Main St., Portland

In order to pass both our ambitious transportation agenda and our Blueprint for Oregon's Future, we must deliver a clear and consistent message to elected leaders in Salem. You've watched over the past months, even years, as politicians have bombarded the airwaves and pounded the pavement for your vote. Now that the election is over it is time to start making tough policy decisions about how we should spend limited money on our highest priorities. Where will you be?

Elected leaders will be in Salem every day weighing the options for new policies and new directions for Oregon. And where you will be can have a huge impact on the decisions they make. Join us for a Citizen Lobbying and Skill-building Workshop this winter.

Learn about Oregon's legislative process and how to make your voice heard. Gain the skills and techniques you need to be an effective advocate and citizen lobbyist for a cause. Review policy priorities of 1000 Friends and partner organizations to be well-informed on issues to discuss with your legislator. Meet others who share your interest in civic participation and smart land use planning for Oregon and discuss what we can do together to advance our common goals. Contact Tara Sulzen to Sign-up for one of the trainings below or to setup a training with your organization or in your area. (Call 503 497-1000 or email her at tara@friends.org)
