from Peace & Justice Works:
All
Everything is coming together nicely for the Wed. March 19 "Iraq for Iraqis Now--US Out" events taking place at Terry Schrunk Plaza, the World Trade Center and the Old Federal Courthouse downtown on Wednesday.
Each location will have a giant banner that bears the name of the day's event. To ensure that people get information about ending the occupation, we plan to have at least two people in each location all day from 8:30 AM to 6 PM. Broken into 1/2-hour shifts, that's 114 shifts! And so far, over 70% of those slots are full, with 33 left to go.
So if you can volunteer for 1/2 hour, an hour, or two or more hours, please let us know! Openings are at 8:30-11:30, 12:30-1, and 3-6 PM.
Permits are in hand for the appropriate locations, we've nearly raised all the money to cover the event (but more donations are welcome!) and people seem to want to keep the pressure up in this election year to end the occupation.
Meanwhile, spread the word and come down for an hour or two during the activities 11 AM - 2 PM and 4-6 PM.
An updated news release which we intend to send out to the media tomorrow is attached below.
Hope to see you on Wednesday!
