Vancouver: Eyes Wide Open
Friday evening, March 8, 5-9 PM, Saturday March 9, 1-5 PM, Sunday March 10: 1-5 PM.
Camas Friends Church (Quaker), at 1004 NE 4th Avenue, downtown Camas.
The exhibit is on 3rd Avenue, off the lower parking lot. Displaying the boots of soldiers killed in Iraq, and shoes for civilians also killed. This is a new form of the same event, with boots representing the soldiers from Washington. Besides attending, if you have any mens or children's shoes to donate, you could bring them as well. Unfortunately, as the war progresses, more shoes are needed to represent people. This event will travel all over the state of Washington. Perhaps you would like to book it for your own venue?
You are invited to come experience this exhibit in a spirit of reverence and silvence to honor and mourn those who have lost their lives in this war. There will be a comment book available for you to write your thoughts and impressions. A candle light vigil will be help Friday at 8 PM and Saturday at 7 PM. The doors of the Meeting house will be open for anyone who wishes to come and sit in silence and pray, meditate or light a candle.
