Housing Opportunity Candidate Forum: 2/21 at Noon

Eyewitness speakers/Wheels of Justice Tour in Vancouver and Portland
The Wheels of Justice Tour is coming to the Portland area Feb 28-March 2, featuring Mazim Qumsiyeh, Phd, and Mike Miles, eyewitnesses on the occupation of Iraq and Palestine. There are various opportunities to hear the speakers and see the mobile peace-center bus, including Friday
(Feb 29) 11 am - 1:00 pm downtown at Terry Schrunk Plaza during the Women in Black vigil, Saturday (Mar. 1): 7 - 9 pm at First Unitarian Church and several times on Sunday (Mar. 2) at Central Lutheran Church (speakers: 9-10 am and 12:30-1:30 pm; open house 11:30 am - 12:30 pm). They will also be on several college campuses and have a KBOO interview on Feb. 29 at 9 AM.
Dr. Mazin Qumsiyeh is Christian Palestinian-American, author of "Sharing the Land of Canaan: Human Rights and the Israeli-Palestinian Struggle" and media activist; and Mike Miles is a catholic worker, founder of a center for the study of nonviolence, community, and sustainable living, and human rights observer. Qumsiyeh frequently appears in national TV and radio interviews and he's published numerous op-eds.

Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Room where Palestinian hand-made olive-branch baskets and olive oil will also be for sale by Lutherans for Justice in the Holy Land. Sam Keator teaching and calling the traditional dances with local brilliant musicians every month, October – May. March 7 we will have Mikey Beglan and Danny O’Hanlon playing the music!
