In accordance with the Mt. Hood Cable Regulatory Commission's ("MHCRC") Rules of Procedure, the Commission announces a Formal Hearing in order to consider evidence from the parties regarding potential franchise violations related to Comcast's customer service obligations under the applicable Franchise Agreements in Multnomah County, including the cities of Gresham, Fairview, Portland, Troutdale and Wood Village.

Neighbors West-Northwest Internship Description
POSITION TITLE: Electronic Communication Specialist
ORGANIZATION: Neighbors West-Northwest (www.nwnw.org)
POSITION TERM: March 31, 2008 – June 8, 2008.
HOURS: 20 hrs/wk, $12/hour
LOCATION: Northwest Portland.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: 4:00 PM Friday, February 15, 2008.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Electronic Communication Specialist will train neighborhood volunteers to maintain their websites and will engage volunteers with a variety of electronic communication tools. The intern will also fine tune our new database, to ensure effective communication with our membership. Fully utilizing electronic tools gives our all-volunteer neighborhoods a low-cost and timely way to communicate with their membership. We are looking for an intern with strong communication and technology skills to lead our organization and the neighborhoods into the 21st century.
ORGANIZATION’S MISSION: Neighbors West-Northwest supports grassroots democracy in action! The staff at NWNW works with neighborhood volunteers as they govern their own affairs, advocate for their community interests, and promote public involvement in the development of public policy. Neighborhoods are a volunteer-driven training ground for aspiring citizen activists. Our staff provides resources to help develop future leaders.
NWNW supports neighborhood volunteers by providing direct service and expertise in community involvement, outreach, communications, land use, fiscal management, and much more. Our region includes the residents and businesses in 10 officially recognized neighborhood associations in inner southwest and northwest Portland, Oregon. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Websites, Email & Calendaring
• Conduct website training for neighborhoods, especially targeting those with new websites.
• Work with staff to redevelop the Neighbors West-Northwest website.
• Send electronic announcements to neighborhoods as requested.
• Compare pros and cons of several email newsletter services.
• Update events on existing calendars.
• Compare pros and cons of several online calendars.
Database & Miscellaneous Office
• Work with staff to update neighborhood databases and finalize our master database.
• Make minor modifications to the structure of the existing database, as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date information in database.
• Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Familiar with multiple web development programs and content management systems.
• Previous experience and success training others on technical topics.
• Experience maintaining and creating relational databases, preferably in MS Access
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Overall competence with MS Office applications: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Availability to work some evenings and weekends. (Training related.)
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• U.S. Citizen, national or lawful permanent resident
• Familiarity with neighborhood system
WAGE AND BENEFITS: Neighbors West-Northwest provides a supportive, collaborative work environment close to lively Northwest 23rd Avenue. Easy access to several bus routes and only 6 blocks from the streetcar! This is a temporary, part-time position funded through June 2008, the end of the current fiscal year.
