The Community Alliance of Tenants (CAT) is looking for volunteers to staff our Renters' Rights Hotline. Based in NE Portland, the hotline gives renters from throughout the state accurate and detailed legal information about our rights, practical suggestions on how to protect them, compassion and appropriate referrals. We counsel dozens of tenants a day, many of whom are at immediate risk of losing their housing. The time commitment is very small (4 hours a month). Please call or email Ari at (503) 460-9702 or ari@oregoncat.org

March for Immigrant Rights

Sunday, June 24, 2pm-4pm
A peaceful immigrant rights march begins near NW Glisan and Broadway, proceeds south on Broadway and will end near Pioneer Courthouse Square. The permit is for a sidewalk march. It is difficult to determine the size of the event and it may grow larger than a sidewalk event can accommodate. If that is the case, the Police Bureau will be on scene to assess allowing street use.

Southeast Uplift Hosts
Introductory Session on the
Coalition for Livable Future's
Regional Equity Atlas

Wednesday, June 27, 6:00pm-8:00pm
3534 SE Main Street
Southeast Uplift will present data collected in the Atlas to neighborhood leaders and others who are interested in knowing more about our community. The Regional Equity Atlas explores such questions as: Which communities are affordable, have access to transit, have adequate parks and natural areas? This is a great tool for neighborhood leaders who want to better understand demographic changes happening in Portland neighborhoods.
