Oregon Medical Cannabis Awards

Sunday, December 9, 9:00am - 10:00pm
The Ambridge Center, 300 NE Multnomah
Sponsor  Oregon NORML 503-239-6110
This year marks the fifth annual Oregon Medical Cannabis Awards (OMCA). Event is open to the public to be held at the Ambridge Center in downtown Portland, which is near the Convention Center and right off the MAX line.
OMCA offers medical marijuana patients a chance to evaluate up to 28 strains of medical cannabis. Medical marijuana growers submit their strains to a panel of medical marijuana patients who then judge the strains on medicinal effect and potency, as well as qualities such as taste, aroma, appearance, time of onset, and more. Trophies and prizes are awarded to the top three strains in terms of overall score. Fourth and fifth place strains receive

ribbons. Judge's Choice ribbons will be awarded to the top finishers in each judging category. Trophy winners are ineligible for Judge's Choice.
The event is also a festival of vendors and demonstrations on the subjects of medical marijuana, industrial hemp, and consumer cannabis. Top experts in medical marijuana and drug law reform will be available at our educational panel. One of the highlights this year will be the first sustainable and natural fiber fashion show, scheduled for high noon. We will showcase local designers and distributors of sustainable, hemp and other natural fiber clothing and accessories.
The event is topped off by an awards banquet where the trophies are awarded.
COST: Banquet tickets - $35
Day passes - $10 include the fashion show and educational and vendor events
