ABOUT BARK:
Bark is a Portland-based conservation group dedicated to protecting Mt. Hood National Forest. Over the past seven years Bark's efforts have led to the cancellation of 20 timber sales, saving 7,445 acres of Portland's backyard forest. Bark works with volunteers to monitor, track and challenge each logging project and is the only group that monitors all of the logging activity in Mt. Hood National Forest. Bark works to educate the public through its monthly hikes, Volunteer Speaker's Bureau, online timber sale database, volunteer and internship opportunities and our Adopt-A-Timber-Sale Program. See www.bark-out.org for more info.
