Kentucky Fried Cruelty Campaign

Saturday, July 1, 11:00am - 1:00pm
KFC at 707 N.E. Weidler, Portland, Oregon, 97232 (503) - 228 - 7244 (KFC)
Phone Contact: (503) 239 -6841
Sponsor: Liberation Collective - P.E.T.A.-(2)- I.D.A.
We will be protesting, demonstrating, and maybe even do an action or two at KFC. Arrive at 11am (for a quick update on KFC Campaign, rights training, some media 101, and tactics/strategy training.) We will be holding signs, passing out leaflets, educating the public, and making a little noise. Other stuff could happen, too, but you probably need to be there to see it. Why KFC?
PETA/IDA/LC is asking KFC to eliminate the worst abuses that chickens suffer on the factory farms and in the slaughterhouses of its suppliers, including live scalding, life-long crippling, and painful debeaking. The more than 850 million chickens killed each year for KFC are tortured in ways that would result in felony cruelty-to-animals charges if cats or dogs were the victims, but KFC still refuses to make changes. As a leader in the chicken industry, KFC has a responsibility to ensure that the chickens raised for its buckets are protected from the worst cruelties.

Schumacher Furs protest!

Saturday, July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 12:30pm - 5:00pm
811 SW Morrison (corner of 9th and Morrison)
Come protest in front of Schumacher Furs. The bastards have gotten away with animal abuse for long enough. Let's show them that Portland is an animal-friendly city. Signs and literature provided.
