Pacific NW Peace Summit
Iraqi Peace Process

Friday, June 9th, 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Cramer Hall, room 71, Portland State University
Sponsors: Civilresistpdx, PSU, others    (503) 327-8250
All are invited to a public forum on the creation of an Iraq Peace Process. The panelists have a wealth of knowledge that is crucial to ending the war in Iraq. They are representing these key subject areas: 1) regional politics, 2) humanitarian and reconstruction needs, 3) peacekeeping and civil society, and 4) military issues. These panelists include Lawrence Korb of the Center for American Progress, Colonel Douglas Macgregor (U.S. Military, ret.), and Jack Duvall of the Center on Nonviolent Conflict. The forum will include short presentations and dialog with the audience. This event is sponsored by the Conflict Resolution Program at Portland State University, the Portland Catholic Worker Community, and Portland Civil Resist, with funding from the Jubitz Family Foundation, McKenzie River Gathering, and private donors.

Just below the mast head in our local paper on primary election day it said, "Today the two parties pick their candidates. Despite the fact that most races are uncontested local civic and party leaders hope for a good turn out."
Pravda could not have said it better.
