5th Annual Million Marijuana March

Oregon NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws), KBOO Public Radio, and the Hemp and Cannabis Foundation present:
Join cannabis and hemp supporters along with medical cannabis patients and caregivers who will march in 153 cities worldwide to support cannabis and hemp legalization. Our own Portland, Oregon police-escorted march, complete with marching band, will assemble in Pioneer Square at 11:00am; the march begins promptly at noon. We encourage families to participate in this drug-free, alcohol-free and dog-free event.
To round out the day there will be a post-march party for ages 18 and up at Billy Reed's, 2808 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Portland from 4:20pm onwards. Admission to the party is $5.00. Please be sure to bring you ID and OMMP card to gain access to the medication tent.

Public Planning meeting for the A World Beyond Capitalism 2005 Conference, The Annual, International, Multiracial Alliance Building Peace Conference. This meeting is open to the public and is appropriate for all ages. The AWBC conference begins August 26th, 2005 but we are currently scheduling workshops, speakers and volunteers. We are also accepting advance registrations at this meeting. All are welcome. We very strongly encourage parents, families, minorities, English as a Second Language (ESL) and marginalized activist groups to attend this meeting to help plan pre- and post- conference community activities. Please bring written proposals for presentation consideration. Cost: free.
