Vegan Brunch

Tuesdays, July 5, 12, 19, 26, 11:00am - 2:00pm
Liberty Hall, 311 N Ivy St. (1 block south of Fremont, 2 blocks west of Vancouver)
Sponsor Microcosm Publishing (503) 249-3826
We've been conducting vegan brunches every sunday for months and when the weather got nice people stopped coming. We grow food here in our garden and the idea is that people come by to cook it together and eat it. If people buy things we collect donations to pay for it but generally the idea is eating together instead of alone and meeting new faces. We even eat outside in the garden nowadays!

Swim Like Hell
Wild in the Streets for Salmon

Saturday, July 23rd, 8:00am
SE Water Ave and Salmon St.
Phone Contact: (503) 703-2895
Swim Like Hell is a grass roots run in empathy of the struggle of Pacific salmon. From droughts to dams to pollution to nets, salmon are faced with daunting challenges. They swim thousands of miles to spawn and die. We're just going to run three of them. The route is the ~60 blocks of Salmon St from the Willamette River to the Mt. Tabor Resevoir - source to source, if you will. We don't have permits (or even a budget), but will run simply wild through the streets free-for-all style, like a pedestrian Critical Mass. It isn't an athletic event; it is a holler to the fish that built this place.
