Third Annual Writer's Block Party

The celebration begins with three one-hour writing workshops. When the workshops are finished, participants will have a chance to read their work in front of a live audience. Afterward, we will open the mike. WRAP will provide childcare and snacks. Throughout the afternoon there will also be music, a raffle drawing, and more. All activities are free. Founded in 1999, WRAP is a non-profit, community arts organization that transforms lives by using the power of writing to connect the diverse people of our city. Through free creative writing workshops, published writing collections, and local events, WRAP empowers new writers and develops audiences for their work.

Meet at The Slammer Tavern for a rooftop performance by Gothic Outhouse... put on your life jacket... parade to the eastern bank of the Willamette River... then swim across! Following the crossing, a community block party in the Oysterbar Alleyway on Ankeny St. Free show by the "Karaoke from Hell" band.
