Ward Churchill

Sunday, April 17th, 7:00pm - 9:45pm
Kaul Auditorium at Reed College 3203 SE Woodstock Blvd. (southwestern part of campus. Kaul is just west of the Student Union)
Phone Contact:  (503) 517-5221
Ward Churchill will be visiting Reed on Saturday April 16 for a spoken word performance. $5 for general admission and free for Reed Students.

In addition to being a longtime activist and revolutionary Ward Churchill is currently a Professor of Ethnic Studies and the Coordinator of American Indian Studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Recently, Churchill has faced controversy over his book "On the Justice of Roosting Chickens," which resulted in several cancellations of speaking events at other college campuses. In his book, he draws an intriguing parallel between the World Trade Centers attack and the US attacks in the Middle East with the 500,000 children who died from the embargo. This spoken word performance with Ward Churchill will be an evening to remember.
