Kissell for City Treasurer:
I am running for City Treasurer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Anyone interested in helping can make their check payable to "Kissell Campaign Committee" and send it to:
Paul Host, Treasurer
Kissell Campaign Committee
3302 North Cramer Street
Milwaukee, WI 53211-3008
The last time ran for this office (2004), I received 35% of the citywide vote. That year, I entered the race at the last possible moment (mid-December). This time, I've started campaigning a year in advance. I believe I will receive no less than 45% of the vote, and it's possible that I will become Milwaukee's third Socialist city treasurer.
The race is officially nonpartisan (ever since the laws were changed after the Social Democratic sweep of 1910, to facilitate combined Democrat-Republican campaigns). The incumbent since 1976 has been a conservative Democratic seat-warmer.
Oregon Public Power Coalition - We got this on the ballot, and were defeated in Multnomah. The Clackamas and Washington efforts continue. [Editor's Note: does anyone know if this is still relevant and/or current in any way?]
