Socialists Celebrate Bill of Rights Day! On December 15, 2004 (213th Anniversary of the Bill of Rights), Socialists from the Socialist Party of Oregon held an informational picket at the Mark O. Hatfield federal Building, 1000 SW 3rd Ave. (across from Terry Schrunk Plaza), 11:30am-12:40pm.

Among other hijinks, copies of the Bill of Rights and information on how the U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act infringes on those rights (the second document prepared by the ACLU) were distributed. There were enough demoinstrations in Portland that day that the Portland Police Bureau did not have the manpower to stomp on us and everybody else, as well, so we were free to go about our Right to Peaceable Assembly -- without the cops messing with us for not having a "permit".
