Advocacy Tool
From Oregon Food Bank
Stay on top of anti-poverty policies, learn what's happening in Washington, D.C. and Salem, and take action on important issues affecting Oregonians who experience hunger. You can do it all from Oregon Food Bank's newest on-line advocacy tool.
Through our upgraded advocacy web pages, you can:
* Take action on current state, federal legislation,
* Find your local, state, and federal elected officials,
* Get tips on communicating with elected officials,
* Send a letter to the editors of newspapers throughout Oregon,
* Sign up for Action Alerts.
For example, did you know that funding for programs such as low-income housing, Medicaid, Head Start, and nutrition programs like Women Infant and Children (WIC) is in jeopardy? When Congress returns from recess next week, the House and Senate will resume efforts to work out the differences between the House-passed and Senate-passed plans. Follow this link to tell your members of congress that you support these programs.
