While no one could possibly despise Melvin Little more than I, I am afraid I have to admit that Cde. Little DOES have the right to support and vote for whomever he wants to. If it were possible to get him expelled for voting for the candidate of his choice (or promoting the candidate of his choice), I would, of course, seize this opportunity to make a final push to get Willie booted from the rank n' file forever!
You see, Melvin's real crime is NOT that he prizes a democratic choice over and above a party line; not that his previous work with the World Bank can get him kicked out (but just wait until he get evidence!); not that he his hair dyed blue (Oh, Melvin -- THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!); not thathe sometimes gets pissed (interpret that in either the American or British use of the term) before he starts typing; it is quite another thing entirely.
Melvin Little has been calling for efforts that will have the effect of DESTROYING OUR PARTY! His so-called "Fisy and Rose Caucus" thing (a sham, I tell you, a sham) is a bully pulpit so that he can advocate of a multi-tendency party that prizes action over rhetoric -- rhetoric that we have slaved over, worked for, fought and earned with sweat and jeers, claimed by right of being the rightful inheritors to the legacy of everybody in the lasy 200 uears who has claimed to be a socialist or anything similar! Melvin may want to see our sectarian politics warped toward his own twisted ends, namely, a political party that fights for what it espouses, but at what cost? DE-VALUING OUR RHETORIC! And THAT is too high a price to pay, now or ever! Down with Melvin Little!
Solidarity forever,
Michael C. Marino

> Comrade Little, I see from the tail of your post that you are still parading your support for Bernie the Bomber Sanders even though Jane Newton is a candidate for the office held by Sanderss Jane is not only a member of SP-USA, but she was a delegate to the Oct SP-USA Convention. > Do you think it is appropriate for a comrade to openly support a member of the Democratic Party Congressional Caucus when another comrade of yours is a candidate for the same office? > Comradely--Peter Diamondstone |
